What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how AI assistants connect to external tools. Paste this URL into Claude.ai under Settings → Integrations, or into Claude Code, to give the connected LLM access to your memory tools. Works with any MCP-compatible client.

Memory Storage
Loading…
Where are memories stored?
By default memories are stored on AmnesiaIQ's managed servers. Connect Google Drive to keep everything in your own Drive — the same place your photos and documents already live. AmnesiaIQ writes there and reads from there; it's your storage, your rules.
Vault Encryption

Do I need this?
Probably not. Your Google Drive is already yours — the same place your photos and documents live. Most users are completely fine without it.
Enable vault encryption only if you want Drive memories to be unreadable even to someone who gets into your Drive. Encryption is fully automatic once enabled — no changes needed to any of your AI connections.

API Keys
Authenticate the Chrome Extension or any API client
When do I need an API key?
API keys are used by clients that can't do OAuth — primarily the Chrome Extension and direct API integrations. Each key can have a trust level (Acquaintance / Friend / Family) that controls how much context the connected client can read and write. MCP clients like Claude.ai use OAuth instead and don't need a key here.

Circles
What are circles?
Circles are named memory scopes. A key can only read and write memories tagged to its circles.
Empty = all circles — the key sees everything. Changing a key's circles doesn't move or delete memories — it just changes what that key can access. Remove a circle and the memories stay; add it back and access is restored. |
Trust
Trust levels
Controls how much memory context this key can read and write:
Acquaintance — surface-level context only. Safe for public-facing integrations. Friend — full personal memory access. Good for your own tools. Family — everything including vault/sensitive data. Use sparingly. |

What are operator keys?
Operator keys let your platform act on behalf of your users. Memories are scoped to your circle and fully isolated from other operators. Your users never need an AmnesiaIQ account — the memory layer is invisible to them.
